OUR SERVICES

What to do following a Bereavement

If the death occurs at home:

The deceased’s doctor should be called. Once the doctor (or on call doctor if it is outside of working hours) has come to the house to confirm the person has died, we will then be able to attend. The doctor issues the Medical Certificate of Death so you would need to contact the doctor’s surgery in order to arrange collection as this is required in order to register the death.

If the death occurs in a nursing home:

The staff will contact the doctor and liaise with the chosen funeral director. However, you will still need to contact the doctor as above.

If death occurs in hospital:

The hospital staff will arrange for the doctor to issue the Death Certificate and they will inform you of when and where to collect this. If the funeral is going to be a cremation, please advise the hospital staff so they can arrange for any additional documentation to be completed. If someone has died and you need immediate assistance, please contact us on:
